This section includes Analyst settings that can be modified according to user needs. Analyst stores all your personalized settings in its configuration file on your hard disk. These include, e.g., visual appearance of plots, flag colors and description, and many other properties controlling the behavior and look of Analyst.
General
General - general settings
Component | Description |
HTTPS proxy | Custom https proxy that overrides connection to the internet. Often used for securing internal networks. |
Custom hostname | Custom device name |
Log level | Threshold for logging application logs into log file. 0 for no logs, 100 for all logs. |
Working directory | Sets default working directory |
Browse | Opens Browse dialog for setting up working directory |
Database connection timeout | Sets waiting time for connection. After the time has passed, the database is marked as disconnected |
Cache memory timeout | Sets time for storing data in cache memory. After timeout data are deleted from cache memory. |
Solar geometry | Choose which algorithm to use for solar geometry calculations |
Startup | Sets starting project after abortion "Getting started" dialog or their disabling. Options: Open last project - open last opened project; Open blank project - open empty project |
Show "Getting started" dialog | Allows displaying "Getting started" dialog when Analyst starts |
Restore Defaults | Set predefined (factory) settings |
Save | Save changes |
Close | Close dialog |
Flags
Flags - flags settings; add, remove or edit flags
Component | Description |
Add | Add new flag to global flag scheme. It is possible to add only flag values bigger than 56. |
Remove | Remove flag from global flag scheme. It is possible to remove only flag values bigger than 56. |
Restore Defaults | Set predefined (factory) settings for flag scheme. |
Table with flags | Default flag scheme with number, color, validity and description. User is able to edit all of the properties for flags bigger than 55, and color for default flags. |
Graphs
Graphs - graphic settings
Component | Description |
X label size | Set the label size for the x-axis. |
Y label size | Set the label size for the y-axis. |
Tick label size | Set the tick label size for both axes. |
Line width | Set the width of lines in plots |
Marker style (plot) | Set the line marker style |
Marker width (plot) | Set the width of line marker |
Marker style (scatterplot) | Set the scatterplot marker style |
Marker width (scatterplot) | Set the width of scatterplot marker |
Colormap | Set the color ramp for heatmap plots |
Modules
Modules - specific module settings
Component | Description |
Methodology | Set the methodology for automatic quality control of irradiance data. |
Show irradiance columns | When opening interactive quality control, all irradiance columns are checked and plotted. |
Check flags | Sets which flags should be checked when opening interactive quality control. |
Scale graphs | If checked, time series graphs in Visualize module will be scaled to min/max values after each redraw. |
Check first column | If checked, first column of first dataset is plotted when opening Visualize module. |
Instruments
Instruments - table of most common instruments, with possibility to add new ones.
Component | Description |

Filter | Filter table by input. Filtering is performed on all of the columns at once. |
Table | Table of default and custom instruments with parameter type, instrument name, manufacturer, uncertainity and instruments class columns. |
Add | Add instrument at the bottom of the table. |
Remove | Remove instrument from table. Only added instruments can be removed. |
Palette
Pallete - visual setting for parameters for better visual experience
Component | Description |

Parameter | Parameter type for which line width, opacity and colors options will be applied in plots. |
Line width | Set the line width in points. |
Opacity | Set the alpha value used for blending. Opacity could be within range 0.3 - 1. |
1/2/3 color | Set the first/second/third color of line in plots. Color can be changed by clicking on specific color button. |
Restore defaults | Restore default parameters. Leaves added ones. |
Add parameter | Add new parameter with options. |
Add column | Add new color column for all parameters. |
Clear Caches
Releases cache memories.
