Settings
This section includes Analyst settings that can be modified according to user needs. Analyst stores all your personalized settings in a configuration file on your hard disk. These include, e.g., visual appearance of plots, flag colors and description, and many other properties controlling the behavior and look of Analyst.
General settings
Component | Description |
Log level | Threshold for logging application logs into log file. 0 for no logs, 50 for all logs. |
Working directory | Default working directory that is suggested when working with files. Opens Browse dialog for setting up new working directory. |
Database connection timeout | Waiting time for connection with the DB. After the time has passed, the database is marked as disconnected and dataset appears red in the main screen. |
Cache memory timeout | Time for storing data in cache memory. After timeout, data are deleted from cache memory. Refresh button in the main screen reloads all needed data into cache and restarts timer. |
Startup | Define what project should be opened after application starts from following options:

Reset to defaults | Reset settings in this tab to default values. |
Save | Save changes. |
Close | Close dialog. |
Login configuration
Component | Description |
Connection timeout | Time to connect to Solargis web services to be able to verify subscription during login. |
Reset timeout | Reset connection timeout to default values. |
HTTP proxy | Custom https proxy that overrides connection to the internet. Often used for securing internal networks. Define proxy IP address or use system proxy setup on your computer. |
Test connection | Test connection to Solargis web services. This function is used to check proxy settings or internet connection. |
Login details | Information about currently logged user. |
Flags
Add, remove or edit flags custom flags. Flags between -9 to 55 are considered system flags and are used by automatic quality control. For this reason only color and validity can be modified.
Component | Description |
Table with flags | Flag scheme with flag number, color, validity and description (flag name). |
Add | Add new flag to global flag scheme. It is possible to add only flag values bigger than 56. |
Remove | Remove flag from global flag scheme. It is possible to remove only flag values bigger than 56. |
Reset to defaults | Reset settings in this tab to default values. |
Graphs
Component | Description |
Label size (axes) | Set the tick label size for both axes. |
X tick label size (axes) | Set the label size for the x-axis. |
Y tick label size (axes) | Set the label size for the y-axis. |
Line width (plot) | Set the width of lines in plots. |
Marker style (plot) | Set the line marker style. |
Marker width (plot) | Set the width of line marker. |
Marker style (scatterplot) | Set the scatterplot marker style. |
Colormap (heatmap) | Set the color ramp for heatmap plots. |
Reset to defaults | Reset settings in this tab to default values. |
Quality control
Component | Description |
Methodology | Set the methodology for automatic quality control of irradiance data. |
Show solar radiation columns at start | When opening interactive quality control, all irradiance columns are checked and plotted. |
Scale graphs when redraw | If checked, time series graphs in Visualize module will be scaled to min/max values after each redraw. |
Reset to defaults | Reset settings in this tab to default values. |
Instruments
Table of most common instruments, with possibility to add new ones.
Component | Description |

Filter | Filter table by instrument mode, parameter type and/or manufacturer. |
Table | Table of default and custom instruments with parameter type, instrument name, manufacturer, uncertainty and instruments class columns. |
Add | Add new instrument. |
Edit | Modify selected instrument. System (default) instruments cannot be modified. |
Remove | Remove selected instruments from table. Only added instruments can be removed. System (default) instruments cannot be removed. |
Palette
Customize graph properties and define colors when visualizing multiple parameters of the same parameter type.
Component | Description |

Parameter | Parameter type for which line width, opacity and colors options will be applied in graphs. |
Line width | Set the line width in points. |
Opacity | Set the alpha value used for blending. Opacity could be within range 0.1 - 1.0. |
Colors | Set the first/second/third color of line in plots. Color can be changed by clicking on the color. |
Add parameter type | Add new parameter types with options. |
Add more colors | Add new color column for all parameters. |
