Application Start and Login
Internet access
Access to https://apps.solargis.com/home/analyst and api.solargis.com is needed during the installation and runtime of the Analyst application.
Start application
Open installation folder and start analyst.exe.
Default installation folder is: C:\Users\<user>\Analyst
Initialization phase
At the beginning Solargis Analyst logo is shown. It can appear under other active windows.
This phase takes a while, mainly during first start.
Only one instance of Solargis Analyst can be running at one time. In case you accidentally start multiple times, an error message appears for the second and other instances.
When application configuration file is corrupted and cannot be read, warning message appears. Corrupted configuration file is backed up and new default configuration file is created.
Subscription and login verification
After initialization phase, subscription is checked. In case user was already logged in, subscription is valid and offline limit did not expire, user is automatically signed in.
Login
When application is started for the first time or when subscription verification didn’t pass, login window appears.
Enter email and password registered in Solargis apps portal.
Proxy settings
Contact your network admin to check if you need to set up the proxy (as Solargis Analyst needs to access the internet). To do so, open Advanced settings and enter URL to your proxy server. Empty string means “do not use any proxy”.
Test connection
It is possible to test connection, in case login is not working, to make sure that network settings allow access to api.solargis.com
Select a company account
When login is successful and user has Solargis Analyst subscriptions in multiple company accounts, user selects company to log into.
Summary
After successful login, summary page is displayed. Continue with application start.
Loading GUI
Last step of application start is initialization of GUI before main screen is displayed.
Getting started window
When application is started for the first time, getting started windows is shown. Create new project, open recent projects, or open demo project.
It is possible to skip this step and Solargis Analyst will start directly opening main window. User settings to change options for opening or skipping getting started dialog.
Logout
It is possible to logout current user and login as a different user. Navigate to the application menu, and select “Logout” option. Once logged out, the user is redirected to the login page.
